Iran 's supreme leader Ali Khamenei pardoned 100 prisoners convicted of security offences. Fars news agency, quoting Tehran 's prosecutor general Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, said the pardon came after they repented. Fars said that some of those released were among those rounded up in unrest following the June 2009 controversial re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
