Iran launching homemade satellite

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced the launch of homemade satellite during the 31st anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. According to Iranian news agency ILNA, speaking to a group of Iranians residing in Turkmenistan, President Ahmadinejad said the indigenous satellites will be unveiled during the celebrations and will be placed at high altitudes. Meanwhile Iran's Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi quoted by Press TV as saying that the new generation of Iran's national satellite will be called Toloo (Dawn). In February last year, Tehran launched its first home-made satellite Omid telecommunications into space by the Iranian-produced satellite carrier Safir two.Iran claims that the new satellite has been designed and built by Iranian scientists and experts, which will be launched during the victory celebrations of the Islamic Revolution in February next month. Meanwhile a UN resolution on Iran over its nuclear programme hangs in balance after the reported statement of Chinese Ambassador to UN that this is not the right time or right moment for sanctions because the diplomatic efforts are still going on.
