Iran: Domestic travel restrictions for people with confirmed or suspected cases of the novel coronavirus

<span style="color: #222222;">In Iran, authorities yesterday announced domestic travel restrictions for people with confirmed or suspected cases of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Health Minister Saeed Namaki said, instead of quarantining cities, movement restrictions are going to be implemented for those suspected of infection or those infected.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Namaki also announced curbs on access to several Shiite holy sites, including Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad and the Fatima Masumeh shrine in Qom.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Iran last week announced its first two deaths from the coronavirus in Qom, a centre for Islamic studies and pilgrims from abroad. Also in the affected regions, weekly Friday prayers will be suspended, said Namaki.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to official figures, the virus has since killed 19 people in Iran and another 140 people have been infected.</span>
