Iran defends Nuke Drive in letter to UN

Iran has written to 15 members of the UN Security Council saying the UN resolutions slapped on the Islamic Republic will not affect its peaceful nuclear programme.<br/><br/>Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki added in letters to the member states of the Council that Iran was now more determined to develop its atomic programme. He criticised the resolution as unjust and illegal. <br/><br/>Mottaki thanked Brazil and Turkey for voting against the resolution and reiterated Tehran's position that nuclear weapons had no place in its Defence and security policies.
