In Iran, hundreds of thousands of people carrying flags and banners in support of the Islamic regime celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution today.State television showed the people in Tehran carrying images of the late Islamic leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and his successor incumbent leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and moving to Tehran's Azadi Square. Chanting anti-U.S. and anti-Israel slogans, the Iranians swarmed the Azadi Square and nearby areas to mark the anniversary. The 1979 revolution ended with toppling the U.S.-backed regime of Shah.
