Iran's judiciary spokesman has said that Iranian forces have arrested two foreign nationals who under the guise of journalists sought to gather information on a woman convicted of alleged adultery and murder. According to Iranian Press TV, Iran's judiciary spokesman Mohseni-Ejei disclosed that two foreigners went to the home of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani and conducted an interview with her son. He added that the two people were not journalists and had entered the country as tourists. Ashtiani, a mother of two, was found guilty of murdering her husband in collusion with another man. Meanwhile, a German foreign ministry spokesman said he is aware of the information and German Embassy in Tehran is trying intensively to verify. The Association of German Journalists also called on for the immediate release of the two journalists without revealing their identity or employer. Association President Michael Konken blamed that accusation the two were arrested because they were unaccredited was a pretext to block critical coverage of human rights violations in Iran.
