In Iran, seven al-Qaeda members have been arrested on Wednesday night in Sardasht Township, located in the southern part of Iran's West Azarbaijan Province. Iran’s official news agency IRNA quoting a reliable source has reported that the arrested al-Qaeda members were identified by Iranian intelligence officers and arrest warrants had been issued for them by the judiciary officials. The agency says that these people had begum their activities in the region with the aim of sowing the seeds of discord between the different sects in Azarbaijan. A noticeable amount of books and pamphlets of al-Qaeda, the Wahabi and Salifi sects, and a number of other less known clans were found and confiscated from those agents' team home.
