Iran announces to begin five days of nationwide air defence war games

Iran has announced that it will begin five days of nationwide air defence war games from today in order to improve its defence capabilities. Iranian Air Force Brigadier General Ahmad Miqani, was quoted as saying by the Tehran times that the Air Force, the National Police, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, and the Basij forces will take part in the three-stage war games. Miqani added that a domestically-manufactured radar system with a range of 3000 kilometers will be unveiled during the war games. He also claimed that Iran plans to manufacture a long-range missile system, which will be more powerful than the Russian S-300 system. The newspaper reports, that Miqani had disclosed this year that Iran has carried out tactical drills that simulated real combat at Fordo, Tehran, Natanz and Bushehr and the western region of the country where Iran’s nuclear plants are located.
