In the International Premier Tennis League, Philippine Mavericks will take on Singapore Slammers today, while UAE Royals will clash with Japan Warriors. Yesterday, on the opening day of this second edition of the tournament, UAE had defeated Singapore, 26-20, while defending champions Indian Aces beat Japan, 25-24. The nearly three-week long tournament is being contested by five teams in Asia. Japan Warriors joined this year.Indian Aces comprise of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna along with Rafael Nadal and 4 other players. Leander Paes is in Japan Warriors alongside Maria Sharapova, Kei Nishikori and Marat Safin among others. There are no other Indians in the tournament. However, top stars like Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Stanislas Wawrinka and Belinda Bencic in Singapore Slammers, Roger Federer and Ana Ivanovic in UAE Royals, and Serena Williams and Milos Raonic in Philippine Mavericks will be seen in action in the competition.
