Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu today said Intellectual Property Right, IPR is the foremost critical agenda for development of medicines. 

Inaugurating the National Conference on Counterfeiting and Role of Enforcement Agencies in New Delhi, Mr Prabhu said there is a need to ensure that there are no counterfeit drugs. 

He said government is committed to the idea of addressing IPR in the country. 

The Minister stressed that government is working to ensure patent registration in the least possible time. He said the patent registration action plan will be announced in the next few days.
