IPL:Lowly Pune beat top dogs Chennai by 24 runs with brilliant all- round performance

Pune Warriors India displayed an exceptional all-round performance, as they defeated Chennai Super Kings by 24 runs in a league match of the IPL Twenty-20 cricket tournament at Chennai last night.Opting to bat first, Pune got off to a blistering start, with Aaron Finch and Robin Utthappa sharing 96 runs for the opening wicket. But, later the Pune innings tumbled and they slid to 128 for 4. With a brilliant 39 not out at the end,Steven Smith steadied the Pune ship and after the stipulated 20 overs, Pune were 159 for 5.In reply,Chennai managed to make just 135 runs in their 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda and Mitchell Marsh, each bagged a maximum of two wickets for Pune. Smith was adjudged man of the match.In today's fixtures, Kings Eleven Punjab will clash with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders at 4 PM in Mohali, while Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Delhi Daredevils in Bangalore at 8 in the evening.
