In the One Over Eliminator, Mumbai Indians scored 11 and then Jasprit Bumrah bowled a brilliant over to restrict Gujarat Lions to 6 runs only. Earlier, Gujarat Lions were restricted to 153 for 9 with Ishan Kishan contributing 48 off 35 balls. Parthiv Patel scored 70 off 44 balls while Krunal Pandya took 3 wickets for 14 for Mumbai Indians. In another match, Rising Pune Supergiant beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 61 runs. Chasing a modest target of 158 runs RCB slumped to 96 for 9 in stipulated 20 overs. Barring skipper Virat Kohli no RCB batsman, including the mercurial AB De Villiers played an inning, worth mentioning. Earlier sent in to bat, the Pune Supergiants managed 157 for 3 in 20 overs, courtesy skipper Steve Smith's sensible innings of 45 runs and Manoj Tiwary's 44 not out. In today's encounter, King XI Punjab will clash with Delhi Daredevils, at their home turf, Mohali at 4 PM, while the second match will be played in Hyderabad between the defending Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders at 8 PM.
