IPL spot fixing: Delhi Police hunting for other bookies

Delhi Police is hunting for other bookies reported to be linked with the suspended Rajasthan Royals player Ajit Chandila in IPL spot fixing case. Delhi Police sources said that one of the three bookies arrested yesterday was in touch with Chandila and introduced him to other bookis. Sources said that Chandila was offered a sum of 30 lakh rupees for disclosing about who will win the match between Kolkata Knight Riders-KKR and Royal Challengers Bangalore-RCB on 12th of May at Ranchi. Chandila told the bookies that KKR will win and actually KKR won the match. Sources said that later bookies refused to pay him the amount as they have incurred loss due to a low-scoring match. Chandila was paid an advance of two lakh rupees only.However, Delhi Police said as such they have no evidence to corroborate the claims of Chandila to come to a conclusion that the match was fixed.Meanwhile Delhi Police also questioned Abhishek Shukla, a friend of Sreesanth. Our correspondent reports that Delhi Police have so far arrested 22 people, including three cricketers S Sreesanth, Chandila and Ankit Chavan.
