In the IPL match in Delhi, Royal Challengers Bangalore have elected to bowl after winning the toss against Delhi Daredevils. When reports last came in, Delhi were 2 for 1 in 1 over. Earlier, at the Eden Gardens,Kolkata, the day's first IPL match between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of heavy rain and thunderstorm. Field umpires Richard Illingworth and Rajesh Deshpande took the final call after their fourth inspection at 6.50 pm. It was announced that the match was abandoned and the ticket amount would be refunded April 28 onwards. Both teams were awarded one point each for the abandoned game. Rajasthan Royals benefited from the result by climbing up to the top of the table replacing Chennai Super Kings. The Rajasthan team now have Eleven points from 8 encounters. Chennai are in the second place with 10 points from 6 matches. KKR, on the other hand stay, at third place with seven points from six matches.
