The player draft of the two new teams– Pune and Rajkot–which will be added in next year's Indian Premier League cricket tournament was held in Mumbai today. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was first to be picked, as he went to the newly added Pune. Rajkot, another new franchise, picked Suresh Raina.Both, Dhoni and Raina were part of the Chennai Super Kings which was suspended for two years along with Rajasthan Royals in the wake of the Justice RM Lodha committee's report on the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.Pune has also picked R Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Faf Du Plesses and Aussie Steven Smith, while Rajkot has got Ravinder Jadeja, New Zealand's Brendon McCullum, Aussie James Faulkner and Dwayne Bravo.New franchises from Pune (owned by New Rising) and Rajkot (Intex) have been roped in for the next two editions of IPL after Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were found guilty of breaching IPL regulations and suspended for two years. The remaining 40 players are set to go to the auction to be held on February 6th in Bangalore.
