In IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first in the tournament opener against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
         
In between the toss and start time, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has held a small felicitation function for gold-winning Olympian Neeraj Chopra.

He has been awarded prize money of 1 crore rupees. Boxer Lovlia Borgohain the Olympian bronze medallist gets  25 lakhs.

The men's hockey team gets a combined 1 crore. Manpreet Singh, the captain, picks up the cheque from Sourav Ganguly.
