IPL governing council meets today evening in Mumbai

The meeting of the IPL governing Council following the two year suspension of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will begin today evening in Mumbai. The meeting is considered to be crucial as the governing council is likely to chalk out a plan of action on the decision of supreme court appointed three member committee under former chief justice of India R M Lodha. The IPL Governing Council, headed by Rajeev Shukla, is expected to look into the finer points of the strong judgment and take a decision on the matter. Shukla had earlier said that there is the option of allowing the two teams to be run by the board itself under former cricketers, for the next two years as there are many people who feel that keeping CSK and RR away from the IPL until the 2017 edition will be enough. However, some are also of the opinion that if BCCI takes control of the team then issues of conflict of interest might arise again. Meanhwhile, it has not still come not clearly whether the decision on the franchises will be taken on this meeting or kept aside for the BCCI's general body to take the final call.
