Both Houses of Parliament have been adjourned following pandemonium over the IPL scam with the opposition demanding a probe by Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). <br/> <br/>The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the second time till 2 PM and the Rajya Sabha till 2.30 PM. In the Lok Sabha, the Leader of the Opposition, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj made a forceful plea for setting up of the JPC saying that there is a question mark over the involvement of two central ministers and skeletons are falling every day with regard to the scam. She said that in such a situation, the central agencies and government departments cannot investigate the matter and only a JPC can bring out the whole truth. <br/> <br/>Mr Sharad Yadav of the JD-U, while supporting her demand said the IPL has become a platform for loot. He alleged that those involved in the scam are taking the Mauritius route to avoid taxes. Mr Basudeb Acharia of the CPIM said that startling revelations are pouring in every day and a large number of people are involved in what he described as the biggest gambling in the country. <br/> <br/>He said there is an urgent need for JPC to find out the truth and fix those responsible for the large-scale corruption. Mr Gurudas Dasgupta of the CPI described it as a massive scam unparallelled in the history of Independent India. He alleged that the government was not aware of it even as things were happening under its nose. <br/> <br/>Responding to the opposition demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe the alleged scam, the Leader of the House and Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee said that he will convey the sentiments of the opposition to the Prime Minister and get back to the House.<br/> <br/>However, the opposition was not satisfied and continued to raise slogan in support of its demand. The Speaker, Mrs Meira Kumar, adjourned the house for forty minutes till 12. There was no let up in the situation when the house re-assembled and the house was adjourned for the second time till 2 PM.<br/> <br/>In the Rajya Sabha, the entire opposition was up on its feet immediately after the question hour demanding a probe by JPC. Some of the members trooped into the well of the house forcing the Presiding Officer to adjourn the house till 2.30PM.<br/><br/>
