IPL Auctions 2017: Mohd Nabi creates history, becomes first Afghan player to get sold at Rs 30 Lakh

History was made at IPL Auction today in Bengaluru when Mohammad Nabi became the first Afghanistan cricketer to be chosen for this season's tournament. He will play for Hyderabad SunRisers for 30 lakh rupees. Young Rashid Khan Arman was the second Afghan player to be picked up. Sunrisers Hyderabad shelled out 4 crore rupees for the 18-year-old bowler. England all rounder Ben Stokes has emerged the biggest of purchases at the first round of the players auction, going to Rising Pune Supergiants for 14.50 crore rupees. New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson went to Delhi Daredevils at his base price of one crore rupees. Karn Sharma moved to Mumbai Indians from Sunrisers Hyderabad for 3.2 crore rupees. Tamil Nadu left-arm pacer T Natarajan bagged 3 crore rupees from Kings XI Punjab. Whereas spinner Krishnappa Gowtham and pacer Aniket Choudhary went for two crore rupees each to Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively. Both the players went for 20 times their base price of 10 lakh rupees. Left-arm spinner Pawan Negi bagged a one crore rupees deal from Royal Challengers Bangalore starting at a base price of 30 lakh rupees. Big names that went unsold include Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, S Badrinath, Cheteshwar Pujara, Irfan Pathan and Manoj Tiwary. A total of 359 players including 130 overseas players are going under the hammer. The pool comprises 62 batsmen, 117 bowlers, 150 all-rounders and 30 wicket-keepers. 229 uncapped players are waiting to make their debut this season.The IPL series begins from the 5th of April and will continue till 21st of May.
