Auction of players for third edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) was held in Mumbai today. As many as 67 players from all Test playing nations were up for auction. But there were no takers for Pakistan players. West Indies all rounder Kieron Pollard was sold to Mumbai Indians for around $ 750,000 in a secret bidding after the bidding for Pollard reached a tie breaker stage between 4 teams. South African fast bowler Wayne Parnell was won by Delhi Daredevils team for $610,000. New Zealand player Shane bond was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for $750,000 in a secret bidding after a tie breaker for Bond form two teams. Another West Indian player Kemar Roach was sold at $720,000 to Deccan Chargers after a long bidding between Chennai Super Kings and Deccan Chargers. England player Eoin Morgan was contracted by Royal Challengers Bangalore for $220,000. Australian Player Demian Martin was bidded by Rajasthan Royals. It also bagged in Australian player Adam Vogas. Mohammed Kaif, the only Indian in the auction who did not find any bidder earlier in the day was finally sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 1.14 crore. South African cricketer Yusuf Abdullah was also sold to Kings XI Punjab. However there were no bidders for Brad Haddin, Graeme Swann , Shahid Afridi, Kamaran Akmal, Umar Akmal, Sohail Tanvir, Upul Tharanga, Chamara Silva, Bolinger, Daren Ganga, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Landal Simons, Kulsekera, Tim Brasen, Imran Nazir, Sakib-ul-Hasan, Wavell Wayne Hinds, Phillip Joel Hughes, Jonathan Trott, Rana Naved-ul-Hassan, Jason Krejza, Grant Elliott, Ashley Noffke, Rory Kleinveldt, Tyron Henderson, Suleman Benn in the first round of auction. Eight players each from England and West Indies are up for IPL auction. Eleven cricketers form Pakistan, Australia and South Africa will be available for auction while Sri Lankans nine players vie in IPL 2010 auction. Four players from New Zealand while one player each from Bangladesh, Canada and Holland are up for auction. New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond and Australian batsman Damien Martin, who returned from rebel cricket league ICL, got the entry at last month.
