The eighth edition of the Indian Premier League Twenty-20 Cricket tournament will kick off today with an opening ceremony at the Salk Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Top Bollywood actors will enthrall the audience in the two-hour long ceremony which will begin at 7:30 PM. However, there is a huge possibility of rain and thunderstorm spoiling today's ceremony. The Met department said that apart from the showers, there was a high chance of a thunderstorm striking Kolkata and its surrounding area in the afternoon.Kolkata has witnessed heavy rain and thunderstorm in the past two days. It had also affected the practice sessions of Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians the two teams which will face each other in the tournament opener at the Eden Gardens tomorrow.
