IPL matches of season 7 to go on as per schedule as the Supreme Court today permitted to let Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals play. The apex court said Sunil Gavaskar will be the interim President of BCCI only for managing affairs of IPL. Gavaskar will not do commentary during the period. Other matters of the Board will be taken care of by the BCCI Vice President.
A Bench headed by Justice A K Patnaik today passed interim order, in the IPL fixing and betting case. Supreme Court refused to pass any order for allowing N Srinivasan to participate in the activities of ICC. The Board had yesterday requested Supreme Court not to curtail Srinivasan's role in international cricket.
BCCI told Supreme Court that Dhoni has been wrongly villified by media after
yesterday's proceedings in which false allegations were levelled against him. It said Dhoni never made a statement that Gurunath Meiyappan was just a cricket enthusiast.
Harish Salve, appearing for Cricket Association of Bihar, had yesterday,raised questions on the conduct of M S Dhoni, who is also Vice President of India Cements, saying that he is guilty of corrupt practices.
