IPL 6: Sunrisers defeat RCB in super-over

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the super-over last night, to register their second consecutive victory in the ongoing sixth Indian Premier League Twenty-20 cricket tournament. Opting to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad last night, Bangalore posted 130 for 8 in the alloted 20 overs. Bangalore Skipper Virat Kohli top scored with 46, with a valuable contribution of 44 by Moises Henriques.Chasing 131 for victory, Hyderabad needed 7 runs in the final over, but they managed to make just 6, which led to the season's first super over. Hanuma Vihari was the highest scorer for Hyderabad.Vinay Kumar, then, bowled the super-over for Bangalore and conceded 20 runs, with Cameron White bludgeoning two sixes, giving Hyderabad an almost certain victory. In reply, pacer Dale Steyn gave away 15 runs in their super over and the match ended in favour of Hyderabad.Earlier, in another match, Kings Eleven Punjab beat Pune Warriors by 8 wickets at Pune.In today's fixtures, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will clash with Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur at 8 in the evening.
