IPL-5: Match between RCB & CSK called off due to rain

In IPL Twenty-20 cricket tournament, the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings was called off in Bangalore last night due to heavy downpour. The two on-field umpires Sudhir Asnani and Billy Doctrove called off the match at 11 pm as persistent downpour played a spoilsport. Both, Chennai and Bangalore got a point each from the game and have nine points from eight matches. Earlier, in another match, Mumbai Indians defeated Kings Eleven Punjab by four wickets in a thrilling finish at Mohali. In reply to Punjab's score of 168 for 3 in the stipulated 20 overs, Mumbai Indians scored 171 for six with just one ball remaining. In today's encounter, Pune Warriors India will take on Deccan Chargers in Pune at 8 in the evening. Onto Badminton, Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal has reached the pre-quarter finals of the India Open Super Series Tournament, being held in New Delhi's Sirifort Sports Complex. Saina yesterday defeated Hong Kong's Key Pui Yin Yip, 21-14, 21-6. Others to reach the pre-quarter finals were Ajay Jayaram and P.Kashyap and women shuttlers Neha Pandit and P.V.Sindhu.
