IPL 4: DD Vs PW match abandoned; DC crushes Kings XI Punjab

The Indian Premier League cricket match between Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors was abandoned due to rain in New Delhi last night. Delhi were 56 for three after 10.1 overs when rain stopped the play at Feroze Shah Kotla ground. In another match at Dharamshala, Deccan Chargers crushed Kings Eleven Punjab by 82 runs to dash their hopes of making the play-off stage in the tournament. Chasing 199 to win, Punjab only managed to score 116 all out in 19 overs with leg-spinner Amit Mishra recording the first hat-trick of the season. Earlier, sent in to bat, the Deccan side posted an imposing 198 for two in their twenty overs. Man of the Match Shikhar Dhawan remained unbeaten on 95. With the Punjab's team's defeat, Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders have confirmed their berths in the play-offs. Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore have already booked their places for the play-off stage of the on-going fourth edition of the IPL. All the four teams still have one match in hand. In today's encounters, Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Chennai Super Kings, while Kolkata Knight Riders will clash with Mumbai Indians in Kolkata.
