IPL 3: Deccan Chargers beat Kings XI Punjab by five wickets

In an Indian Premier League match at Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh on Friday , Deccan Chargers beat Kings XI Punjab by five wickets . Chasing a 175-run victory target, the Chargers fumbled and faltered but Rohit stayed till the end to guide the side to 178 for five in 19.1 overs. Rohit's unbeaten 68 in 38-ball knock included six fours and three sixes. Rohit's eighth IPL fifty was the cornerstone of Deccan Chargers' win as the defending champions recorded their seventh victory in 13 matches to jump to the fourth place in the points table. Earlier Put into bat,, Kings Eleven Punjab have made 174 runs for the loss of three wickets. The Punjab side lost opener Shaun Marsh in the first over but the 86-run stand between Sangakkara 52 of 37 balls and Jayawardene 93 runs in just 62 balls shored up the innings.Earlier Deccan Chargers have elected to field after winning the toss against Kings Eleven Punjab. In today's matches Royal Challengers take on Mumbai Indians in Bangalore while Kolkata knight Riders will meet Rajsthan Royals in Kolkata .
