The player auction for this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) is being held in Bengaluru today. England all-rounder Ben Stokes triggered a bidding war at the auction before going to Rajasthan Royals for a whopping 12 crore 50 lakh rupees. Ajinkya Rahane was also bought by Rajasthan for 4 crores. Kings Eleven Punjab has bought Lokesh Rahul for 11 crores and Ravichandran Ashwin for 7 crores 60 lakhs. Aussie Aaron Finch, South African David Miller and Yuvraj Singh also went to Punjab.Sunrisers Hyderabad got the services of Manish Pandey for 11 crores, and of Shikhar Dhawan for around 5 crores. Aussie batsman Chris Lynn went to Kolkata Knight Riders for 9 crores 60 lakhs, and so did his fellow countryman pacer Mitchell Starc for almost same amount.Delhi Daredevils has bought Glenn Maxwell for 9 crores, with Gautam Gambhir also going to the same team.Dwayne Bravo for over 6 crores and Harbhajan Singh for 2 crores have been bought by Chennai Super Kings.Keiron Pollard has again been bought by Mumbai Indians. West Indian swashbuckler Chris Gayle and Briton Joe Root are, so far, unsold.This year's IPL, the 11th edition of the tournament, will begin on 7th April.
