In IPL cricket, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rising Pune Supergiants by 7 wickets at Bengaluru. Chasing 192 runs, the home team score 195 for 3 in 19.3 overs, thanks to a highly gritty knock of 108 not out off 58 balls by skipper Virat Kohli. He entered into record books as he became the only batsman to score two tons in a single IPL season. Kohli, had hit his first ton of the season againstGujarat Lions in Rajkot. Virat Kohli became the first captain to score more than 500 runs in IPL in three different seasons and in doing so, he broke Sachin's record, who had achieved this feat twice as captain of Mumbai Indians. Sachin plundered 618 runs in the 2010 edition and 553 runs in the 2011 edition of the IPL. Kohli has so far scored 541 runs in eight matches with an average of 90.16 in the current IPL season. Ealier put to bat first, the Pune team had scored 191 runs for loss of 6 wicktes in 20 overs. Ajinkya Rahane was top scorer with 74 runs. Saurabh Tiwary added 52 runs.
