IPL 2015: RCB thrash Kings XI Punjab by 138 runs

In the IPL Cricket, Chris Gayle's 117 of just 57 balls and clinical bowling by S Aravind and Mitchell Starc propelled Royal Challengers Bangalore to a 138 run victory over Kings Eleven Punjab at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was second biggest win in the IPL history by run-margin.Chasing a mammoth target of 227, Punjab batsmen inexplicably surrendered without any fight. At a point Punjab was gasping at 49 for 8 and staring at the lowest total of the tournament 58. But Axar Patel saved them blushes with a fighting unbeaten 40 off 21 balls. For Bangalore, Aravind and Starc shared 4 wicket each as they snuffed Punjab at 88 runs inside 14 overs.Earlier, skipper Virat Kohli and Gayle shared a 119-run stand in just 11.2 overs and later with AB de Villiers the Caribbean raised a 71-run partnership in just 5.4 overs to reach his second IPL Century.Today, in the first encounter, Rajsthan Royals will take on Sunrisers Hyedrabad and in the second match Kolkata Knight Riders will face Delhi daredevils.
