IPL 2015: CSK defeat RR by 12 runs

Chennai Super Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by 12 runs at Chennai to virtually secure its place in the play-offs of the IPL Cricket. Chris Morris with 3 wickets for 19 produced a brilliant display with the ball for Rajasthan Royals to restrict Chennai to a modest 157 for five at MA Chidambaram stadium last night. For Chennai, Brendon McCullum smashed a quickfire 81. Later Chennai rode on Ravindra Jadeja's fine spin bowling performance and some brilliant ground fielding to restrict Rajasthan to 145 for nine. Jadeja produced a brilliant spell of 4 wickets for 11. With their yesterday's win, Chennai have jumped to the top of the table with 16 points from 12 matches, while Rajasthan continue to occupy the third spot with 14 points from 13 games. Earlier in another match yesterday, Royal Challengers Bangalore thrashed Mumbai Indians by 39 runs at the Wankhede Stadium. The victory pushed Bangalore up in the standings to no. 4 with 13 points from 11 matches while Mumbai, on the other hand, had to remain content with 12 points from as many games to stay in the sixth spot. Kolkata Knight Riders are on 2nd position with 15 points from 12 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Kings XI Punjab today. The match will begin at 8 pm at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad are no.5 with 12 points from 11 matches while Kings XI Punjab are on 8th position with 4 points from 11 matches.
