<span style="color: #222222;">Women and Child Development Ministry is celebrating the fifth Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 across the country. On the occassion of Poshan Maah 2022, The Iodine Man of India, Padma Shri recipient Dr. Chandrakant S Pandav talked exclusively to AIR News and discussed the importance of millets in India to fight malnutrition. He said, millets have been traditional food items of India and now it is being recognised internationally as 2023 is going to be the International Year of Millets.<br />”<br />”Dr Pandav also cited the example of Vietnam and Brazil in their fight against malnutrition and what can India learn from the experience. He said, India needs to focus on utilization of resources.<br />”<br />”Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition – POSHAN Abhiyaan is Government of India’s flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children under six years of age, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the programme from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan on 8 March, 2018. Focusing on the aims of POSHAN Abhiyaan, the government launched Mission Poshan 2.0 as an integrated nutrition support program.</span><br />
