Indian Oil Corporation will lock horns with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited this evening, in the final of the 65th All India Obaidullah Khan Gold Cup Hockey Tournament. The match will take place at the Aishbagh Stadium in Bhopal. In the semi finals, Indian Oil shocked defending champions Air India 6-0, while BPCL edged past ONGC by a golden goal 2-1. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) stormed into the final of the All India Obaidullah Khan Gold Cup Hockey tournament by routing defending champion and star studded Air India 6-0 in the first semifinal last night. Ramandeep and Deepak Thakur scored two goals each for IOC. Air India got nine penalty corners but failed to convert them in goals. Ramandeep of IOC was declared player of the match. The second semifinal between BPCL and ONGC was decided by golden goal. Aamir Khan of BPCL scored an excellent goal with the 27 seconds remaining for the final whistle of the extra time. He was given man of the match trophy. The winner of the tournament will get trophy and price money of 11 lac rupees, which is highest in any hockey tournament in the country. The third place decider match between ONGC and Air India will also be played today before the final match.
