The Indian Olympic Association IOA has rejected the proposal of Common Wealth Games Federation to form an independent Monitoring panel for overseeing the 2010 games preparations. Speaking to media in New Delhi yesterday, the IOA Chairman Mr. Suresh Kalmadi said that the preparations are going on well and there is no need for any independent panel to monitor or review the preparations. He also said that there is no need for the Chief Executive Officer Mike Hooper to stay in Delhi and the Association is relieving him. He also announced the postponement of the National Games till after the Jharkhand Assembly elections are over. The games were to be held in Ranchi from the 21st of next month.
