Former Union minister P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram appeared before the Enforcement Directorate, ED, today for questioning in the INX Media money-laundering case. <br />'' <br />'' He was summoned for a fresh round of questioning in the case. Karti was questioned multiple times by the agency in the past in connection with the case and his statement recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).<br />'' <br />'' The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested his father and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram in the case last month.<br />'' <br />'' Last year, the ED had attached assets worth 54 crore rupees of Karti that were located in India, the UK and Spain in connection with the INX Media case.<br />''  <br />

Karti Chidambaram, son of Congress leader P Chidambaram, today appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its probe into the INX Media money laundering case. Karti was summoned by the agency to appear before the Investigating Officer of the case today.<br/><br/>The central probe agency had registered a case against him and others in May last year. It had registered an Enforcement Case Information Report, the ED's equivalent of a police FIR, against the accused named in a CBI complaint, including Karti, INX Media and its directors, Peter and Indrani Mukerjea.<br/><br/>CBI had also carried out searches at the homes and offices of Karti across four cities for allegedly receiving money from the media firm to scuttle a tax probe.<br/><br/>The Chidambarams have denied all the charges made against them.
