Inventor of ‘Black Box’ David Warren passes away

The Australian inventor of the Black Box, which records flight data and is integral to crash investigations, has died at the age of 85. David Warren came up with the idea after probing the crash of the world first commercial jet, the Comet, in 1953. He died on Monday, Australia's defence department said. Black boxes are now installed in passenger airlines and other forms of transport around the world.
