The legacy of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore continues to remain relevant for contemporary world, even 75 years after his death. <br/><br/>These sentiments were expressed during an International seminar held at Colombo University today to commemorate 75th death anniversary of Nobel laureate. <br/><br/>Delivering the keynote speech on the occasion, Dr. Martin Kampchen, a scholar at Santiniketan said that Gurudev challenged conventional values, questioned clich'd ideas during his life time and continues to do so even after him. <br/><br/>Dr. Kampchen, who was the first to translate Gitanajali from Bengali to German language, said good translations from Bengali are still worth attempting.<br/><br/>High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka, Shri Y.K.Sinha in his inaugural address, said that Rabindranath Tagore had a special relation with Sri Lanka, which he visited three times. <br/><br/>He said that even 75 years after his demise, there are still certain hidden facts to his literature and personality, which needs to be explored<br/>The seminar is being organized by Centre of Contemporary Indian studies at Colombo University in collaboration with Indian Cultural centre.
