In Kerala, the second edition of the international kayaking championship gets underway at Thusharagiri in Kozhikode district this morning. Kayaking enthusiasts from China, Korea, Spain, Scotland, New Zealand and France are participating in this year's event, organised as part of the Malabar International River Festival. Beginners Race, Freestyle events will be held at Chakkittapara this morning. Kayaking Sprint, Water Cross, Mass Water Cross events will also be held as part of the three day event. The championship will be formally inaugurated by the State Chief Minister Mr Oommen Chandy at Pulikkayam near Thusharagiri tomorrow.
