Internet cannot remain the monopoly of few: Ravi Shankar Prasad

Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said Internet cannot remain the monopoly of few as it's a global medium and must have linkage to all. <br/><br/>Saying spreading use of digital technology is the main agenda of the government, Mr Prasad said five crore grant would be given to those start-ups which bring new innovative ideas to improve cybersecurity. He said the government will promote good PhD researchers in cybersecurity. <br/><br/>Mr Prasad said innovation is integral to cybersecurity and under the garb of privacy innovation should not be killed. The minister said internet must be safe and technology must be affordable. <br/><br/>He said India offers big digital market leading to a good digital business and digital payments in the country including through the BHIM app is a low-cost technology. Mr Prasad said his ministry is working so that every government department has a cybersecurity auditor.
