Twenty years after the Internet was invented a global survey has found that the majority of people around the world now regard access to the internet as a fundamental human right. The poll conducted by the BBC across 26 countries says four in five of those questioned agreed that everybody has the right to use the internet. Countries such as Finland and Estonia have already ruled that access is a human right for their citizens. International bodies such as the UN are also pushing for universal net access.
