Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu have complimented the role of women. On the first day of the second part of the Budget Session, Mr. Naidu said, International Women's Day is a day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political contributions and achievements of women. He said, this day honours indomitable spirit, resolute determination and efforts of women and underlines their achievements. He said, a nation cannot make progress without the progress of women.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Speaking on the occasion of International Day of Women in the Upper House, Chhaya Verma of Congress said that women have contributed significantly in every sphere of life and more opportunities will make them more empowered. Saroj Pandey of BJP said that the government has taken several steps for the benefit of girls and women under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said, these steps have improved the sex ratio in the country.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Rajya Sabha MP, Sonal Mansingh has demanded that International Men's Day should also be celebrated. Prinyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena has demanded to provide 50 per cent reservation to women in Parliament and State Assemblies. Echoing the same view, NCP MP Dr. Fauzia Khan said that various cultural, social and economical barriers have restricted the development of women. She said, legislation must be brought to provide reservation to women in Parliament.&nbsp;</span><br />
