International Women's Day is being celebrated today. Governments, NGOs and other organisations across the globe observe 8th of March every year as, International Women's Day, to highlight the achievements of women while calling for greater equality. <br/><br/>The International Women's Day is observed on this day every year. In 1917, women in Russia were granted right to vote for the first time, following a week long demonstration of women textile workers starting on the 8th of March. Later, in 1975, International Women's Day was celebrated for the first time by the United Nations.
