The three-day festival named International Koodiattom and Kathakali Festival 2010 got underway in Dubai. The three-day festival is featuring the best in classical art forms of Kerala including Koodiyaattam, special performances of Cholliyaattam, lecture-demos to the world of Koodiyaattam and Kathakali, Keli and Melappadam, percussion concerts and drum ensembles. Organised by a non-profit organisation in the UAE, ‘Thiranottam’, which is promoting art and culture. The festival is being organised for the second consecutive year in Dubai, with the support of the Consulate General of India, Dubai. The festival was inaugurated by Indian Consul General at Dubai, Sanjay Verma.
