In Afghanistan, international forces mistakenly killed six Afghan soldiers in northern Kunduz province. In a news release, the Defense Ministry said the soldiers were carrying food to troops in the Khakani village of Chardara district. <br/><br/>German soldiers shot them by mistake late last night. The NATO-led command said the incident occurred when troops used escalation of force procedures to stop two incoming vehicles approaching their security position. <br/><br/>After the engagement, the forces discovered that the vehicles were carrying Afghan National Army soldiers and many of them were killed. NATO's International Security Assistance Force spokesman. Brig. Gen. Eric Tremblay said this loss of life during difficult operations is tragic, and the forces share condolences with all those who lost theri loved ones yesterday.
