In Bangladesh, the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal which is conducting the trial of people involved in war crimes during the 1971 War of liberation has finalized its report against senior Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee.According to officials of the investigation panel the 4074 page report giving details of the evidence of crimes against humanity committed by Sayedee will be submitted to the prosecution team tomorrow to be placed before the tribunal. The investigation team has reportedly found proof of Sayeedee’s alleged involvement in murder, rape, arson and looting as well as mass killing during the Liberation War in 1971.Delwar Hossain Sayedee who is an executive council member of the Jamaat-E_Islami was arrested in July last year for his alleged involvement in war crimes along with four other senior leaders of the party.AIR correspondent reports, the War crimes investigation team’s report against Delwar Hossain Sayedee who is an executive council member of the Jamaat-E_Islami is the first one to be completed since it was set up nearly an year back to help the prosecution team in filing cases against those suspected to be involved in atrocities against innocent people during the liberation war. The submission of the report before the International Crimes tribunal will help in the beginning of the trial against Sayeedee. Apart from Sayedee, four other senior leaders of the Jamaat-e -Islami including its chief Matiur Rahman Nizami and two BNP leaders have been arrested so far on war crime charges and the investigation agency is in the process of collecting evidence and interrogating the accused leaders to finalize its reports against them.
