On 31st October 2003, the General Assembly adopted the United Nations Convention against corruption and designated December 9 as International Anti-Corruption Day, to raise awareness about corruption and the role of the Convention in combating and preventing it. It is even more damaging in times of crisis. With this view, the theme for this year is 'Recover with integrity'. It highlights that only by putting effective corruption mitigation measures in place, a better recovery will be possible, while it also emphasizes that inclusive COVID-19 recovery can only be achieved with integrity.</span>
