Intermittent rain continues to lash Mumbai

Intermittent rain are continued to lash Mumbai and its suburbs but normal life has not affected as city’s life lines suburban local trains running on time. While in Konkan region, heavy rainfall which disrupted normal life in Sindhudurg district has stopped in many places since Friday morning. AIR Sindhudurg PTC Nilesh Joshi reported that some places in the district are still facing heavy rainfall. Due to this heavy rainfall normal life in the district was affected. In the last 24 hours the district received record 993mm rainfall causing flood like situation at various places. Since Friday morning water has been receding from places like Amberi Bridge that connects Mangeon valley and the Pithdhaval Bridge on Mumbai- Goa Highway. The road traffic which has come to standstill due to flooding at various places has been reinstated. Meanwhile, rainfall in other two districts in Konkan region Raigadh and Ratnagiri has also been stopped since Thursday. However, authorities of Konkan railway are still working on caved in rail-tracks near Nivsar station in Ratnagiri district. The railway authorities have continued the alternative arrangements to transport the passengers.
