Interlocutors for J&K meet PM

The three newly appointed interlocutors for Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday met the Prime Minister ahead of their visit to the state in the next few days. Later speaking to newsmen, noted journalist Dileep Padgaonkar said that the Prime Minister reiterated the importance of finding a political and comprehensive solution to the issue. He saidthat the talks should also be held with the youth and women.Ms Radha Kumar said that Dr. Manmohan Singh told them that the talks must take into account the aspirations of the people and the previous dialogues including those involving dissident groups and Pak related processes that were part of it.The interlocutor team has already said that they are going with an open mind and they have been given wide mandate with no redlines drawn.Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said in Srinagar that the job of the three-member panel is to facilitate dialogue and there is no reason to criticise the composition of the group at this stage. He said that the interlocutors will be approaching all shades of opinion and they should be given a chance.
