Home Minister P Chidambaram said, former IB chief P C Haldar has been appointed interlocutor for talks with North East insurgent groups, while Lt Gen Madan appointed interlocutor for groups demanding Gorkhaland statehood. Addressing the media in the capital a short while ago, he said, Centre wants to hold quiet talks, quiet diplomacy with Kashmiri separatist groups to understand the contours of proposals each side will present.<br/><br/>He also informed that New Delhi will investigate aspects related to travel by David Coleman Headley, a US national linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, to India. In reply to a question, Mr Chidambaram said, the government will persuade state governments to talk to Maoists to address their grievances if they end violence.
