Interim budget 2014-15 to be presented in parliament today

Finance minister P. Chidambaram will present the interim budget for the financial year 2014-15 in Parliament today. It is a vote-on-account authorizing the government to carry out expenditure on different heads till a regular budget is presented. Ahead of the beginning of the parliament session early this month, Chidambaram had said that the government would only tinker in areas that are essential to revive the economic growth which might include some changes in excise and service taxes in the interim budget.
The News Services Division of All India Radio will broadcast a Special live discussion on presentation of Interim Budget 2014-15, in Hindi and English from 10.35 a.m. The programme will be followed by live relay of the Finance Minister’s Interim budget speech and the special Interim Budget bulletins in Hindi and English. The discussion will continue after the special bulletins for 15 minutes. It can be heard on Rajdhani Channel, FM Gold network, and additional frequencies.
