The indigenous Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile failed to take off today from the Wheeler Island off Dhamra coast in orissa as the target Prithvi ballistic missile moved in a different direction.<br/><br/> The surface-to-surface medium range Prithvi missile was fired this morning at 10.04 am from the launching complex-III from the integrated test range (ITR) in Chandipur-on-Sea, about 15-km from Balasore of Orissa coast.<br/><br/>The exercise supposed to be carried out Sunday was postponed for Monday due to technical glitches in the fins of the interceptor missile. A large number of people residing within two km radius of the test range were shifted to temporary shelters prior to the crucial test.
